Complete vinyl siding installation on a large multi-family home in Passaic, NJ. The existing wood siding was rotted, paint-peeling, and failing in multiple areas. Duraproof stripped the entire exterior, installed new house wrap, and fitted premium vinyl lap siding in a bold navy blue color with white trim — completely transforming the property curb appeal.

Analysis

The three-story multi-family home had original wood siding beyond repair. Significant areas showed rot at window sills, corners, and near the foundation. The failing siding was causing energy loss and water infiltration behind the walls. The owner wanted a maintenance-free solution that would hold up for decades without painting.

Process

Week 1: Tear-off, sheathing repair, house wrap installation. Week 2: Siding panels — front and side elevations. Week 3: Rear elevation, trim work, soffit and fascia. Final day: Touch-up, clean-up, walk-through.

Methods & Techniques

Full removal of existing wood siding and trim. Sheathing inspected and damaged sections repaired. Tyvek HomeWrap installed over entire exterior. Starter strip and corner posts set. Vinyl lap siding panels installed bottom-up, each course overlapping 1". Windows wrapped with PVC trim coil. J-channel installed at all windows and doors. Soffit and fascia replaced with matching aluminum coil wrap.
