Full Roof Replacement – Charcoal Architectural Shingles
Project Overview
Complete tear-off and full roof replacement on a two-story residential home in Wayne, NJ. The existing asphalt shingles had reached end of life with widespread granule loss, cracking, and active leaks. Duraproof replaced the entire roof system with GAF Timberline HDZ architectural shingles in Charcoal, delivering a sharp, modern look with industry-leading 130 mph wind resistance.
Analysis
The existing roof was severely deteriorated — granules had washed off exposing bare mat, multiple shingles had lifted or cracked along ridge lines, and the homeowner reported interior water staining. Inspection also revealed rotted decking sections in two areas near the valleys that required replacement before new shingles could be installed.
Process
Day 1: Full tear-off, debris removal, decking inspection and repairs. Day 2: Underlayment and waterproofing layers installed. Day 3: Shingle installation and ridge cap. Job site clean-up with magnetic roller sweep.
Outcome
The homeowner now has a fully waterproof, aesthetically modern roofing system with a 30-year manufacturer warranty and a 10-year Duraproof workmanship warranty. Interior water damage eliminated. Charcoal shingles dramatically improved curb appeal.
