Hunter Green Vinyl Siding Installation – Passaic County, NJ
Project Overview
Complete vinyl siding replacement on a two-story colonial home in Passaic, NJ. The homeowner wanted a bold hunter green finish with crisp white trim to modernize the exterior while increasing energy efficiency and weather protection.
Analysis
Inspection revealed the original wood siding had significant moisture intrusion, rot at the lower courses, and failing caulk around all window and door frames. The substrate required partial sheathing replacement before new siding could be installed. Proper weather-resistant barrier installation was critical given the home's exposure to wind-driven rain.
Process
Day 1–2: Removal of old siding, sheathing inspection and repairs, weather barrier installation. Day 3–5: Window flashing, corner posts, J-channel, and starter strip. Day 5–8: Siding panel installation from bottom up. Day 9: Trim wrapping, soffit and fascia touch-ups, final inspection and cleanup.
Outcome
The completed project dramatically transformed the home's curb appeal. The hunter green siding with white trim creates a sharp, timeless look. The homeowner reported noticeable improvement in interior temperature consistency. All work passed final building inspection.
